Observed with great fervor and devotion across India and beyond, this festival brings devotees together to commemorate the divine arrival of Krishna, known for his leelas (divine plays) and his deep love for cows, often referred to as “Gaumata” (Mother Cow). Cows hold a special place in Hinduism, revered as sacred beings that embody purity and sustenance.
Latest UpdatesIn the heart of this reverence lies the Dog Home Foundation, a sanctuary where over 300 cows live under one roof. These cows, considered best friends of Bhagwan Krishna, are not just symbols of divinity but living beings who have endured immense suffering. They are victims of cruelty, accidents, and abandonment by their previous owners. At Dog Home Foundation, we have taken on the profound responsibility of saving their lives, providing them with the care and love they so desperately need.
As we approach Krishna Janmashtami, the Dog Home Foundation is launching a special initiative to ensure these cows receive the nourishment and respect they deserve. From August 1st to August 26th, we are organizing a Maha Lapsi program—a grand feeding initiative to provide these sacred animals with good meals, which they do not get every day. Lapsi, a traditional sweet dish made from broken wheat, is not only nutritious but also a symbol of festivity and blessing.
This Janmashtami, we invite you to join us in this noble endeavor. As Bhagwan Krishna himself said, “If my cows are happy, I am also happy. If you feed my cows, you are feeding me, and my blessings will always be with you.” By contributing to the Maha Lapsi program, you will be directly supporting the wellbeing of these cows, ensuring they are well-fed and cared for during this auspicious period.
Your donations will go towards purchasing fodder and other essential supplies needed to maintain the health and happiness of our cows. Each contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in the lives of these innocent creatures. Together, we can create a ripple effect of compassion and kindness, resonating with the very essence of Krishna’s teachings.
Krishna Janmashtami is a time for celebration, reflection, and acts of goodness. What better way to honor Krishna than by ensuring his beloved cows are happy and healthy? Your support will not only feed the cows but will also bring immense joy and satisfaction, knowing that you have played a part in upholding a divine duty.
Join Dog Home Foundation in this sacred mission. Let us come together this Janmashtami to make a real difference. Please donate fodder and other essentials to our cows, and witness the blessings of Bhagwan Krishna shower upon you. Together, we can make this Janmashtami a truly blessed and joyous occasion for all.
The time will vary based on the condition of the animal and the number of animal emergencies at that time. Our helpline call attendants send the ambulances to the most critical animals first, such as animals who are unable to walk, have fractures, are bleeding, etc.
If it’s taking time for the ambulance to reach, please know that it’s because there are more critical rescues required first.
If you can bring the animal to Animal Aid yourself this is greatly appreciated and will ensure fast treatment.
